Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small shallot or ¼ small onion, finely diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1½ tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- Black pepper
- Pinch of salt, if needed
Directions
- Melt the butter in a skillet and cook the shallot for 2–3 minutes.
- Add garlic for about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the broth and scrape up all the browned bits.
- Stir in the cream, Dijon, maple syrup, thyme, and pepper.
- Simmer for about 3–5 minutes, until slightly thickened.
