- 2 cups (4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- In a mixer bowl fitted with a paddle attachment, combine butter, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Beat on high speed 2 to 3 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally.

Alternative
- Combine 4 sticks of softened unsalted butter, 1 lb. of cream cheese and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Beat on high until it’s blended, light and creamy, about 4 minutes.
- With the mixer on low, add in 2 cups powdered sugar.
- Once it’s all incorporated, beat on high until there are no lumps and the frosting is super white and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
